Kathy Velikov

Kathy Velikov is Assistant Professor of Architecture at the Taubman College of Architecture and Planning at the University of Michigan and partner in the Toronto based practice RVTR. She received a 2008 Young Architects Forum Award and her firm RVTR has been awarded the 2009 Canadian Prix de Rome in Architecture. Her work and research focuses on complex ecological, economic, and social structures and processes and built environments that are shaped by advanced materials and technologies. She is currently co-PI on a SSHRC Research Creation grant to investigate and envision energy and mobility-based infrastructural urbanism and landscapes in the Great Lakes Megaregion. Her design and writing has been published by the Journal of Architectural Education, Harvard University Press, Princeton Architectural Press and MIT Press.
