Melissa Roy
Melissa Roy is the Senior Director of transportation policy and government relations for the Detroit Regional Chamber. Day to day, Melissa manages the Chamber’s transportation policy committee, advocacy and monitoring emerging issues that impact trade and infrastructure within Southeast Michigan.
Within government relations, she is responsible for federal, state and local government relationship management. Transportation issues within the chamber include positioning of important projects and forging partnerships with other organizations. Transportation funding and the Detroit River International Crossing study are the top issues for 2008.
Melissa has been employed with the Detroit Regional Chamber for 9 years. In addition to transportation issues, she has most recently led the chamber’s regulatory policy and advocacy efforts. Prior to the government relations department, she worked with the Chamber’s economic development group on regional marketing.
Melissa graduated from the University of Michigan with a degree in economics and German.
