K. Venkatesh Prasad
K. Venkatesh Prasad is the founding leader of Ford Motor Company’s Infotronics Technologies Group (established in 1999) and is responsible for the research, architecture, standards, applications development and vehicle system integration of a broad spectrum of electrical, electronics & embedded software technologies. Prasad represents Ford Motor Company at the Electrical & Electronics Technical Leadership Council of the United States Council for Automotive Research (USCAR) and is on the International Committee of the Sigma Xi (The Scientific Research Society). Prasad received a B. E. (Electronics and Communication) degree from the University of Madras (National Institute of Technology, Trichy, 1980), an MSEE (Electromagnetics & Antennas) degree from the Indian Institute of Technology at Madras (1984), an MSEE (Computer Engineering) degree from Washington State University, Pullman, Washington (1987) and a Ph.D. (Electrical and Computer Engineering) degree from Rutgers University, New Brunswick, New Jersey (1990). Prasad was a co-editor of a special issue of the Proceedings of the IEEE on Advanced Automobiles (Feb. 2007) and is a co-editor of a special issue of the Proceedings of the IEEE on Aerospace & Automotive Software (scheduled for 2009).
