John W. Nolan, MS, CAPP
John Nolan serves as the Director of Transportation Services for Harvard University.
Mr. Nolan contributes as part of an executive team that oversees a 150 million-dollar service operation where his direct responsibilities include Capital Construction and Building Management, University Parking, Transit and Shuttle Operations, Fleet Management and Alternate Fuel Services, Alternative Transportation Programs, Transit Pass Programs, University Mail and Departmental Building Management.
Before coming to Harvard, Mr. Nolan was the Executive for Security and Director of Transportation Services at Georgetown University Medical Center in Washington DC. Prior to relocating to Washington, Mr. Nolan served as the Director of Parking and Commuter Services at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.
Mr. Nolan holds a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from Merrimack College and a Masters Degree in Management from Lesley University. In addition, he holds the professional certification of Certified Administrator of Public Parking from the International Parking Institute and the University of Virginia.
Mr. Nolan is the Past President of the New England Parking Council and is a past member of the IPI Board of Directors where he served as a member on the Finance and Professional Certification committees.
Mr. Nolan has over 25 years of extensive management experience in healthcare and university settings where he has served numerous times as an owner’s representative or client executive for capital building and restoration projects in excess of $200 million dollars.
Mr. Nolan has spoken at numerous regional and national conferences and has lectured at the Harvard University School of Design. He has served as a consult to a number of corporations, trusts and associations.
