Kenneth R. Montler, Chief Executive Officer, Porteon Electric Vehicles. Porteon designs, develops, manufactures, and distributes battery electric vehicles. Porteon is using advanced designs, innovative electronics, and proprietary technology (including an innovative axial-flux electric motor) to provide enhanced vehicle performance, all within a low-cost package. Porteon’s initial vehicles include city, resort and utility low speed vehicles that are designed to integrate into multi-modal transportation environments where people live, work and play. Porteon’s design and development center is located in Portland, Oregon. Porteon’s unique modular design allows it to be assembled anywhere in the world
Mr. Montler has over 30 years of executive management experience in automotive and other industries, including NV Philips of the Netherlands, and Swissray Medical Systems America. Mr. Montler most recent success was managing Global Electric Motors (GEM), where as President and Chief Operating Officer the company grew from a small start-up company in 1998 to its becoming the world leader in low-speed electric vehicles. While at GEM, he introduced the idea of mobility management, using NEVs to create friendlier, more sustainable, and livable communities. GEM was purchased by DaimlerChrysler in December 2000 where Mr. Montler continued as President and Chief Operation officer until December of 2002.
