Dave Konkle
Energy Coordinator, City of Ann Arbor
Dave Konkle has been the Energy Coordinator for the City of Ann Arbor for 20 years, and is currently leading the effort to meet Ann Arbor’s “Green Energy Challenge” to move all municipal operations to 30% green energy by 2010. Dave created and directed the Ann Arbor Area Clean Cities Program to implement alternate fuel projects in the community which are currently displacing over 1 million gallons of fossil fuels/yr. He chaired the “Parking and Transportation Options Study” which has led to the creation of the Ann Arbor GetDowntown Program for alternate transportation and the “go!pass” for downtown workers.
Dave was awarded the EPA’s Climate Protection Award in 2003 for individual effort to reduce climate change and received the first National Climate Innovation Award from ICLEI in 2007 for Ann Arbor’s LED lighting program.
