SMART Conference Participants

Melissa Forbes is a PhD candidate in Sociology and Public Policy at the University of Michigan. She is also a doctoral affiliate with the Erb Institute for Global Sustainable Enterprise and a Graham Environmental Sustainability Institute Fellow. Melissa’s research focuses on shareholder engagement between investors and companies on climate change. She is examining what factors influence firm responses to climate change shareholder resolutions. Melissa graduated from Truman State University in 2002 with a B.A. in Political Science. She received her master’s degree in Public Service and Administration from the Bush School of Government at Texas A&M University in 2004.
