Marsha Ennis is the Project Manager for the Detroit Region Aerotropolis, an initiative being led through a partnership between Wayne County and Detroit Renaissance. She earned her undergraduate degree from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and her MBA from the University of Michigan. An employee of DTE Energy who managed the merger integration between Detroit Edison and Michcon, Marsha has been working with private and public officials since September of 2007 to transform the Aerotropolis concept into reality. She oversees the Aerotropolis Task Force and five committees, and has helped to develop a strategy to bring together the various stakeholders involved with the effort. She sees the Aerotopolis concept as an opportunity to transform the economy of Southeast Michigan and enhance Detroit’s position as a gateway to the world. Marsha has been working with the region’s transportation leaders to understand the connection between the Aerotropolis project and issues such as mass transit, the border, and the movement of goods in and around the Detroit region. Having learned so much about other airport-related developments around the world, Marsha sees mobility within and around the airports as a critical factor in developing a world-class Aerotropolis.
