Steven Balko
What inspires me about SMART:
My name is Steve Balko. I am currently a senior in the architecture program participating in the Wallenberg studio at Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning. I am part of the City Hub Committee and playing a role in the graphic design of the new look for SMART.
Biography:
I think that public transit is a crucial factor to the success of urban life. Going to school in Ann Arbor, near Detroit, has given me a clear perspective on the issue, and how much of an impact public transit or the lack there of, can have on a city. I think the continuation of this research and project planning is very necessary to the changing urban schemes in the United States and worldwide. These projects will assure a better and more functional world, where connection and collaboration are the newest form of functional society.
